I do not know if this is a bug or not. However, *I* think it is so...
When I am logged into the Assistant and *shudders* IE to run it, I get the alert message popping up every minute when it looks. It says that Tarla is back and she isn't.
Also, I logged into Neopets through *shudders* IE to load the image of my logged in neopet and all it loaded was "Mood: joyful".

Okey,
The alert sounds annoying, does it keep going for the entire time it's running or is it just when you log in?.
As for just displaying the mood, can you click on the settings icon (the little spanner/wrench on the right when you move over Neopets Assistant) and tell me your settings.

I keeps going every minute until I turn it off. But only if I check the alert to stop the blinking... Edit: When I was done looking at the settings and pressed ok, I had not turned on the alert function and it went off, with the blinky alert star flashing away at me. Also it was then and only then that my pet updated.
When I changed my pet it updated. However today I changed my pet again and the image is still my old pet. My settings are:
Every box is checked and the time setting for checking the front page is 1 minute.
Alerts is turned off but it was set to 1 minute check as well with a 30 minute stop when idle.
